I don’t really believe the senior media reporter for Yahoo! News‘ “The Cutline” is racist. I was just trying to get your attention. But it does seem odd to me in an article about the trial of Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson’s physician, the reporter mentions a trial of someone named Black:
The reporter was really referring to the trial of Dr. Murray, who happens to be African American.

When I first read this, I thought you were mistaken and that the writer really was writing about someone else whose name is Black. But they’ve corrected it now, so you were correct in noting this slip. But how does something like this happen?

I guess it’s a good thing that the mistake has been corrected. But of course, there is no notice of the correction that you might find in a legitimate news source. I don’t know how mistakes like this happen. Maybe someone at Yahoo! will read this and fill us in.
