How many presidents are we electing?

Unbeknownst to me, there are two presidential races going on right now. I knew about the one being run for the White House, but what is the other one? PTA president? Rotary Club president?

Maybe someone can email the “journalists” who work on the Yahoo! front page and ask them. And while you’re at it, ask them why they capitalized presidential.

It’s perfectly reasonable and indeed rather eloquent!–once you realize that “races” is being used in the sense of “people groups.” There are two proud and Presidential races in the South, apparently, who will be challenged by the splintering of the region. Doubtless they will be overwhelmed by other races of barbarians from the North. Or something.

Ah, so it’s a racial thing, but not a race. Silly mie.
