Sometimes, a typo is easy to ignore. Your eyes glide right past it, never noticing that there’s a minor spelling mistake because your brain (which is large and powerful, like the Great Oz), substitutes the correct word. But there are other times when a mistake with a single letter can leave you scratching your head. Like this bit of confusion on the Yahoo! front page:
Should this be: “Woman gets bionic eye”? Or “Women get bionic eye”? Another possibility? This isn’t a typo at all: Multiple women got a bionic eye and the writer is just grammatically impaired.
