I’m guessin’ the writer for the Yahoo! front page wasn’t in line for one of those “genius grants”:
If there’s a grant for writers in need of an elementary education, I nominate this writer! Here’s someone who thinks the Shift key is helpful for creating decorative elements in writing and can be used to add a capital letter to any word. Here’s someone who can’t do first-grade math and thinks that if there are 23 recipients of an award, and you’re talking about ONE of them, then there must be 23 others. And here’s a writer who doesn’t know that each requires a singular verb.
Let’s give this writer a prize. But it won’t be a “genius grant.”
