What’s a Yankee? To some Americans, a Yankee is someone who lives north of the Mason-Dixon line. But, some of those folks say, no, it’s people who live in New England. And New Englanders say, nope, it’s those folks who live in Maine. And Mainiacs say it’s anyone who eats apple pie for breakfast.
And to the writers who scribble for the Yahoo! front page, Yankees is a team in New York, except when Yankee is the team in NYC. Sometimes they have trouble making up their minds:
