Salt Lake City is covered in toxic smog. But it could be worse: Doctors could be warning pregnant women and children to stay indoors. But they aren’t! They should just try to stay indoors, and if they fail, that’s OK. It’s the trying that counts:

Edit, edit then edit some more. They obviously didn’t read it out loud to realise how stupid the advice sounded.

Good advice, but wasted on Yahoo’s staff. I don’t think anyone is competent enough to edit a grocery list. And I don’t think anyone reads what they’ve written.

That’s a good point. Even if no-one is there to read, they should show pride in their work. No, wait, that’s not going to happen is it.

That’s something I’ll never understand — the lack of pride in one’s work. Of course, it’s likely that they don’t know how bad their writing really is, although some of the people who write for yahoo.com read Terribly Write and correct their mistakes after they appear here. But with the number of unemployed journalists, you’d think Yahoo would be able to find folks with at least a basic command of English.
