Do you need a hint?

Do I need to point out the error here? How about I just give you a hint as to the problem with this caption from Yahoo! Movies:

sherrif owens movies

There’s a misspelled word, and it starts with an S. If you’re a Yahoo! writer or editor, I guess I’ll have to come right out and tell you: The word is sheriff.

In fairness to the editor, there is an awful lot of text in that screen shot. Three words? It’s almost inevitable that an error is going to slip through.

You’re right. Given the odds (and the fact that this is on Yahoo), it’s a miracle that only one word was misspelled.

I notice that many of your pieces de resistance emanate from Yahoo!. I thke we should start calling it Yohoo!.

(Readers in Formerly Great Britain often referred to the Guardian as “Grauniad”, for their creative spelling.
