I do not think it means what you think it means

When did Girl Scout cookies get their notorious — even heinous —  reputation? When they appeared in an article on Yahoo! omg!:

The word infamous isn’t a synonym for famous. It means “having an exceedingly bad reputation; notorious” or “causing or deserving infamy; heinous.”

This isn’t the first time that Yahoo!’s keyboard pounders have misused that word.

In the words of Inigo Montoya in “The Princess Bride,” “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
