An 80-year-old rain tree, believed to be the largest in Florida, just got a lot bigger, thanks to a writer for Yahoo! News‘ “The Sideshow”:
If the tree really has a 20 foot width (and by “width” I assume the writer meant “diameter”), then it rivals the largest redwoods in California. If the tree is really 20 feet in circumference (and it is), it’s still a large tree, but not as large as the writer alleges.
Yahoo! writers aren’t known for the knowledge of basic arithmetic — or third-grade geometry.
