Splitting up a nonprofit

Is there a nonprofit organization that might help the folks working at the keyboards at Yahoo! News? Maybe the Internet giant would accept free proofreading services if a nonprofit suggests it:

  1. ZZMike Says:

Usage seems to be about evenly split between “nonprofit”, “non profit” and “non-profit”. Authoritative sites seem to like “nonprofit”. An IRS site has a page titled “Tax Information for Charities & Other Non-Profits”

In the Old Days, we used to call numbers over a few billion “astronomical”. Nowadays, economic numbers make astronomical numbers seem insignificant. If that $27.5 billion is a yearly figure, the savings would pay off the national debt of some $16 trillion in a mere 5818 years.

No matter how you spell it, the subject-verb agreement is wrong anyway.
