The real bellwether

The real bellwether on the Yahoo! front page is this misspelling:

fp bellwhether

It’s an indication of what you can expect on yahoo.com. That includes a missing apostrophe in what should be men’s and an inert misspelling of insert:

fp mens

Let’s not overlook the misspelled Wells Fargo and yet another wrong word:

fp well fargo

Yup, that bellwhether was a real bellwether.

Is it a bellwhether or not?

Another explanation: there are only 5 people writing the entire Yahoo! site, and they don’t have time to slow down and edit.

Spell-check would have found that error and just takes milliseconds. So, they don’t have time for that, either, which I think makes your estimate of 5 people too high.
