Let’s talk about this

Someone needs to have a conversation with the Yahoo! Shine writer who came up with this mind-numbing paragraph:

tusk

I suppose the Tusk Conversation Awards go to anyone who successfully conversates with a tusk. Surprisingly, the awards are given out on the same day as the Tusk Conservation Awards. That the writer who screws up that badly also capitalizes The Duchess is not unexpected.

The article includes a video making some rather odd claims:

first off shine

No, it’s not the first official public appearance of the duchess. Her first official appearance is scheduled for September 12.  This is just the first public appearance since the birth of her son. At least the writer didn’t capitalize duchess, but the writer’s spelling ability isn’t worth a farthing.

After all that ineptness I’m left with just one question: what colour were the “black skinny black pants”?

Now I;m confused (reading mail top-to bottom). I see clearly that “the duchess” isn’t capitalized (even though they’re talking about K.M.), but it still seems that Prime Minister should be.

I just found the AP Style Book. I read and obey

Do you think the folks at Yahoo! use *any* style book? The philosophy seems to be “make it up as you go along” and “do whatever you want.”

What do you think?
