Have you heard of C-suite executives? They’re the men and women at the C-level of a corporation: chief executive officer, chief financial officer, chief operations officer and others. What do they wear? C-suits? That’s a new term just coined by a Yahoo! Finance writer, though I suspect she inadvertently dropped a letter:

It seems to be one of today’s charming in-group terms. “C-suite” iof course (cough cough) refers to the highly-placed affluent denizens of “CEO suites”.

From what I’ve read, C-suite refers to any executive whose title starts with a C for “chief.”

It’s another one of those horrid neologisms. Makes me think of “tout suite” (actually “tout de suite”. But that seems as if it should be rendered as “all the rooms”. Sometimes, French is a little weird.
