What can you glean from this?

Here’s a shining example of an incorrect word choice on Yahoo Lifestyle:

It’s so glowingly bad it practically gleams. What can you glean from this mistake? That Yahoo doesn’t think competent editors are necessary and using the correct word is irrelevant.

    Many speak instead of typing, so do you think this may have been a transcription error, a Siri mistake, perhaps?

      It’s possible that it’s a transcription error. But we all know that voice-to-text translators are notoriously error-prone. So, why didn’t someone — the writer, a proofreader, an editor — proofread the article before it was published?
