Running out of tact

Sometimes when it comes to writing about mistakes on Yahoo! News, I just don’t have any tact. I lose all sense of decency and good manners and make totally tactless comments. And I’m not going to change direction and try a new tack this time. The writer responsible for this headline is an idiot:

I’m being blunt here because it’s not the first time I’ve found this whole tact/tack mixup by a Yahoo! News writer.

I’m not going to be all snarky about this lapse on Yahoo! News‘ “The Ticket”:

Instead, I’ll try a different tack and merely suggest that the writer ought to get himself a good editor. Someone who knows the difference between tack (meaning an approach or course of action) and tact (which I am trying hard to exercise).
