Take a peek at what’s missing

This photo caption from Yahoo! omg! is missing just a little:

what-thinking-omg-1

It sounds like you’re careless

If you haven’t read this yet, you’re in for a bit of a surprise from Yahoo! Shine:

if-u-seek-amy-shine-parenting-0

Besides the error of the missing word, this sentence misspells the title of Ms. Spears’ song (it’s “If U Seek Amy”). And completely f**ks up the “slick trick” in the song’s title. It sounds like you’re SPELLING the f-word, not saying it.

After that mess of an opening paragraph, I feel kind of petty pointing out this typo:

if-u-seek-amy-shine-parenting-1

Packing in the errors

The writer at Yahoo! Shine  seems to think that Velcro is a common noun (it isn’t):

paknak-shine-parenting-2

Velcro is a trademark deserving of a capital letter. And apiece is one word:

paknak-shine-parenting-3

Finally, each of the errors in this snippet from the same blog post is appalling:

paknak-shine-parenting-4

Each is singular and requires a singular verb — in this case, has. And unless each charm has multiple personalities, the correct word is personality or a personality.

Rein in your need to edit

The writer of this teaser from Yahoo! Shine should have reined in his or her need to change another person’s writing:

reign-shine-hp

The writer of the article in question used the correct word, rein, in the article’s title.

Shakira shows up with a little something extra

Shakira is known for shaking her booty. The singer mentioned in this photo caption from Yahoo! omg! is best known for sharking her booty:
